Finger puppets. They’re just like normal puppets, except smaller and don’t have arms. In this campaign for Sports New York, we worked with our friends at Spork to embrace the goof and charm of some sports shorts as seen through a smaller lens.

David Blaine approached us to make an animated intro for his latest magic special, a palette cleanser to get people excited for a bumpy night ahead. Inspired by David’s mind-bending magic and the Paul Auster penned script which was voiced by Christopher Walken in the style of a side-show barker, we crafted a hero’s journey of sorts, a psychedelic trip into the spectacle of the real.

We at Buck had a blast deconstructing color theory with Google’s Material Design team. We embraced simplicity to highlight the true hero in this spot: Color… and more specifically, Material Design’s well thought-out approach to it. Between psychedelic tunnels and big, bold color fields, we set out to make a spot Josef Albers might be proud of.

This one was a huge group effort, and this montage just a snippet of the overall work created for IBM's Leadership Agenda content. We spent a lot of time with Ogilvy NY thinking about things like digital destinations, outmaneuvering markets, cognitive stepping stones and legacy systems. Then we created 40 assorted animated interludes to be peppered into expert testimonies about IBM’s Cognitive platforms. We like to think of them as a big box of friendly design punctuation: Graphic question marks! 3D commas! Stop motion interrobangs!

For this year’s US Open hosted in New York City, we at Buck worked again with IBM and Ogilvy & Mather to visualize some live data from the tournament. This time, it was all about the Big Apple. We made an assortment of animations featuring tennis balls, hot dogs, and competitive peregrine falcons… all to connect the dots with data comparison from the US Open. Who knew Arthur Ashe stadium could fit as many fans as there are trees in Central Park?

What if when you went into the minds of famous soccer players, everything looked all ghosty like when Frodo puts on the "one ring" in Lord of the Rings. What if that was also filtered through a weirdo graphic novel ink aesthetic? These are both questions I asked during the design exploratory for the Nike Hypervenom campaign at Buck.

King Kong, Linsanity, sexting scandals. In this multi-part campaign for Sports New York, we at Buck explored what it means to be a true NY local. Between getting to animate a be-pixeled Brett Favre, and putting the “booty” in “Kardasha-booty”, we had a great time working on these spots with the lovely folks over at Spork NY.

Megh Wright from Splitsider reached out to me to illustrate one of Stefon-from-SNL's run-on-sentence night clubs. As Stefon says, "This place has everything: tweakers, skeevies, Spud Webb, a child, and a Russian guy who runs on the treadmill in a Cosby sweater."
